Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.
Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.

Information
All shipping fees, duties and taxes are the responsibility of purchaser. I use a professional packing company and find the best rates using FedEx, UPS, USPS and various freight companies (for larger items). All work must be fully insured to ship. Actual shipping fees may be higher or lower than advertised. Any overpayment will be refunded and should the piece require additional payment to ship, purchaser will be invoiced remaining shipping balance prior to the piece shipping. Once work is complete, you will be invoiced to pay your remaining balance. Please make your final payment within 48 hours of notification that your item is complete. Failure to do so will not only delay your piece from shipping, but may result in storage fees at the rate of $50.00 per day.
For non-commissioned work, refunds or returns are only granted if there is damage reported within 24 hours of receiving. Please inspect and report any damage within this time frame in order to file a claim with the shipping provider. Please feel free to ask any questions or receive additional photographs of an already made piece. I'd rather sell 1 piece a year and have a happy client opposed to selling 500 and have 3 customers bummed out about their purchases. For custom made or commissioned pieces any damage must also be reported within 24 hours of receiving in order to file a claim. All custom work is non-refundable once production begins. Should a natural problem occur during production (wood splitting, excessive warping, shop flooded, etc), the customer will be notified and presented with the option of using similar materials for their build or a refund of their deposit. Problems occurring during production are seldom, but they do happen. When dealing with large natural materials, sometimes things are out of our control. I do my best to prep the wood via kiln drying, dry stacking and flattening my stock and the last thing I want is the material to fail after I've invested an uncountable amount of time and money into my materials. My goal is to make you happy with what we create for your home and office. Once work is complete, you will be invoiced to pay your remaining balance. Please make your final payment within 48 hours of notification that your item is complete. Failure to do so will not only delay your piece from shipping, but may result in storage fees at the rate of $50.00 per day.
