Artists for Humanity

Since 1991, Artists For Humanity (AFH) has been offering paid employment in art and design to under-resourced teens. From our humble beginning, we have grown into the largest onsite employer of Boston teens, with approximately 250 employed in the visual arts and creative industries annually.

Working across four creative studios - painting, digital media (graphics, photography, video & motion), 3D design and screen printing – teens immerse in the design process with their mentors and learn how dedication to the creative process, with an eye toward emerging trends, results in high quality, marketable products.

One of our teen participants commented on the design and maker process involved in the development of our new furniture line, reVision.

“It was not an easy process, but it certainly gave me insight into how much work goes into a single piece of furniture. Being part of the process not only added to my skills in building and using tools, it also added onto my life tools, which I can use every day.”
