Tom's WoodArt

My father was a woodworker and made many well-received flat pieces, mainly gifts. I have always been awed by the beauty of wood and more than forty years ago, I, too, started making flat pieces. When I retired from a career in management at IBM, I began turning wood.

Tom's WoodArt was formed when I found myself delivering a variety of products, many of which were described by my quilt making wife for tools and display pieces other quilters were looking for in addition to the bowls, rolling pins, platters, blanket chests, work benches, and credenzas I was making.

Being able to develop the unique character of different hardwoods, understanding how to take advantage of how wood evolves over time and taking the effort to find and apply the correct finishes are what differentiates my products.
I have taken workshops from Marc Adams, taught more than 100 aspiring young wood turners and am active in three clubs, and helped found a successful growing turning club in Indiana.
