Maker Policy
• Assumed risk when working with wood and stain products: o It is understood that circumstances could arise during production that alter the original plans for the wood. Examples include unknown defects, cracks that expand, insect damage, wood disease, etc. Clever Collective will make every effort to salvage the piece but in the event that is not possible, the client is liable for the replacement of the wood. o It is understood that the appearance of the wood with stain may not turn out exactly as expected. Thus, the client agrees to accept a reasonable amount of variance that is out of Clever Collective’s control. o It is understood that Clever Collective could unintentionally damage the wood or hardware during production due to the nature of precision tools. In the event that the damage is not repairable, the client will be notified and a workaround solution will be determined and agreed upon. Clever Collective will be responsible for additional material costs incurred due to damage. • Warranty o 30 day warranty on finishing and engineering. There will be no charge for repair of any fixable issue that is a result of a production error. o No warranty on the wood itself. o Variable warranty on the hardware as it pertains to the direct manufacturer. • Delivery and Installation o Clever Collective will deliver and install the finished product for FREE anywhere within San Diego County. o If installation is required (such as a piece that undergoes final assembly inside a room), the end destination of the product must first be evaluated by Clever Collective. o If damage to the product occurs during transit and delivery, Clever Collective will repair the damage at their own cost. o If damage to the product occurs during installation as a result of Clever Collective’s efforts, Clever Collective will repair the damage at their own cost. If another party installs the piece after delivery, Clever Collective is not liable for any needed repair costs. This specifically applies to when a piece is disassembled and moved to another location.
