Having grown up in the construction trades, I was recognized early on as having a knack for innovative design, quality construction and a fine finishing touch. Quality finish work is a combination of structure and finish -- It must be both "sturdy" and "pretty." Many builders excel at one or the other, but only a few achieve both.
While I'm experienced in a variety of trades including industrial pipe, metal work and electrical, my passion has always been finishing wood. Highlighting the unique characteristics of the wood while adding a one-of-a-kind color and a durable topcoat to last for generations gives me a special satisfaction. I mix my own wood stains until I feel I have the perfect blend for the material, so each piece or batch is unique. I'm also skilled at matching, so if you need a repair or want to add new pieces to compliment an heirloom, I can lend my services.
In special situations, I've stained wood using natural materials such as coffee and wine. This is ideal in hypoallergenic environments like saunas.
I love the quiet, original beauty of wood in a modern, fast-moving world. It reminds us of the natural world from which we came, and to which we return.

Maker Policies
Shipping Policy
Because of the high cost of shipping to and from Alaska, the state of Alaska is my primary market. Long-distance shipping is available, but will be expensive on large pieces and is solely buyer's responsibility. I deliver on the Kenai Peninsula of AK, though charges may apply to the outer regions. Delivery to other regions of the state will depend on my schedule and distance.
Maker Policy
These terms apply to custom-made orders: Once a design is agreed upon, a 50% non-refundable down payment is required before construction begins. Once project is complete, customer will be provided photos via email (or in-person viewing if possible) for final approval. Full payment will be required prior to shipping or upon delivery. Deposit is negotiable on small or repeat orders. Workpiece remains sole property of builder until final payment is received. If customer cancels order anytime after start of construction, deposit is forfeit and any contract is void. If final payment is not received within 30 days of project completion, it shall be treated as cancellation. Storage fees may apply if final payment is not made within 15 days of completion notice. If, upon receipt, customer is unhappy with item for any reason, customer may return item within 30 days for refund of final payment only. Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. If item, when received, is found damaged or faulty due to shipping, customer must notify builder within 15 days of receipt. Builder may, at builder's discretion, compensate customer for repair by customer or 3rd party. KS Custom Finish creations are fully warranted against damage and defect not due to abuse for 1 year after purchase. KSCF items receive repair/refinishing at a discounted rate to the original buyer for the life of the product. Deadlines: Project or delivery estimates are mere estimates and non-binding unless otherwise stated in contract. If customer has a specific deadline it should be clearly communicated.
