Great service

This Maker has consistently demonstrated excellence in craftsmanship and customer service.

My name is Dan Josephson and I have been operating Saga Custom Works since 2014. I have had a lifelong love of nature and natural materials. Looking around the environment I have always seen different items, especially trees that would make for wonderful building materials and provide natural beauty inside the home.

Saga Custom Works came about after several years working outside of woodworking. During these years of working I kept honing my skills and putting together my list of tool needs. From chainsaws to sawmills. from power tools to the much more used hand planes and card scrapers I was able to leave my job in the "real world" and start something that I really love. From selecting storm damaged trees or others that have come to the end of their natural timelines due to nature or human development, I cut and mill each piece of wood used in my projects. The milling process lets me select the final cuts whether it is live edge slabs or custom sized boards. Each piece of work is unique and each has its own origin indicated on the finial project. Seasonal demands and availability of dried slabs and boards will dictate the type of wood available for given projects. Typical woods are locally and or regionally sourced woods with examples of but not necessarily limited to Red and White Oak, Maple, Ash, and Elm. Each piece of wood is hand planed and scraped to ensure the best finish possible. Natural oils are used to help protect the wood while allowing the natural wood feel to shine through instead of a typical surface finish.

For custom orders I will stand behind each product that is produce for quality and workmanship. Keep in mind that each piece of wood is unique in nature and mother nature and the environment are the real keepers of the way each piece of work will evolve over time. Wood products will change throughout the seasons and generations. Products will be produced to try to limit imperfections and ongoing seasonal changes. If there are issues that arise we will work to come up with a solution that is fair for everyone concerned. For stock items purchased directly from my portfolio, I offer returns within 60 days of delivery. Shipping for returns is at the customer's expense. If you need an item by a specific date or for a specific event, please let me know in advance of accepting a proposal.
