About Cigar Humidors
Humidors here range from desktop boxes in koa, quilted maple, and walnut with spalted maple, some of them inlaid, to coffee-table humidors and humidor cabinets. For shops and lounges, there are tower display cabinets; for the road, there are travel humidors and humidors built from ammo cans and military-surplus cases. Makers also build cigar molds and presses. Humidors are traditionally lined with Spanish cedar, and listings show cedar linings, glass tops and hidden compartments.
What sets the price
A listing's price is usually a starting point. Half of the listings here are priced between about $440 and $730, with a median near $490, and one in ten is priced above $1,200. Capacity, the outer wood and inlay, a glass top, trays and dividers, a lock and humidity hardware set the price of a commission.
Before you start
- How many cigars you keep, and their longest and thickest sizes.
- Desktop, coffee table, cabinet or travel.
- Trays, dividers, a glass top or a lock.
- Whether you want a humidifier and hygrometer included.
- Woods and inlay, and any names or dates for a gift.
For a chess board with humidors built in, see Chess Boards.
Describe the humidor with the materials, size, budget and date you have in mind, and makers who do this work send proposals. You pay a 50% deposit on the one you approve, see the finished humidor by photos, video call or studio visit, and pay the balance once you approve it; Maker Marketplace holds that payment while it ships.

Frequently asked questions
Spanish cedar is the traditional lining for humidors and cigar boxes. It takes up and gives off moisture, and it has a distinctive scent. Ask the maker which lining they use and whether it is solid wood or veneer, and how they recommend seasoning the humidor before you add cigars.
Count the cigars you keep now and how many you expect to add, and note the longest and thickest sizes you smoke. Leave room for the collection to grow, and give the maker a target capacity so they can size the box, trays and dividers. A cabinet or tower suits a large collection or a shop.
Ask the maker whether a humidifier and hygrometer are included or whether you'll add your own. Say which you prefer, and ask how they recommend setting up the humidity at the start and keeping it steady, especially for a large cabinet or a humidor that will travel.
Yes. Retail tower display cabinets and humidor cabinets are among the listings here. Tell the maker the space, how many boxes and single cigars you display, whether customers will open it, and whether you want glass doors, lighting or locks. Ask how humidity is managed in a cabinet that size.
