Blanket Chest
This blanket chest is handcrafted from cherry and walnut ,poplar was use for the back and drawer sides. The doors are hand carved from 1 1/2" thick cherry to give a deep relief of two owls perched on a tree limb with a moon behind them. The chest has an arched top and custom molding to frame it. The doors are arched and the stand has an arch in the front brace, tying the design of the piece all together. There is plenty of room for blanket,sheets and pillows. There are also two drawers inside for smaller items. The rack on the bottom can hold a basket. This piece is finished with a clear shellac, rubbed out. I can build this same chest and customize the doors to your liking. The doors can also be done with just panel doors and no carvings.

Having worked in different artistic fields over the past years, two have helped
with my transition to building furniture.
I believe my experience as a Commercial Photographer and the past twelve years as wood carver, has added in my development of the fundamental skills and artistic eye for proportion, balance and composition. This is specially important when designing a stylized or custom piece.
At present, Western theme pieces are vying for my
attention. I found this styles allow me to produce fine furniture as well
as keep my hand in the carving aspects of the design.
