Mike was a joy to work with! He reworked the design a few times based on some indecision on my end, updated me with the project's progress really frequently, and most importantly, gave me an absolutely beautiful knife block. Great, great experience!

Mike made a custom knife block for us because we could not find one that would hold all of our knives including a butcher's knife. The piece is gorgeous -- zebrawood and cherry with plenty of space for our knife collection. He was a great communicator and sent us a drawing of what our knife block would look like, plus photos of the progress along the way. Would definitely work with this seller again!

I commissioned Mike Mathieu of Wordworking Plus to build a custom knife block to hold my specific collection of Shun knives. Mike was of great help in choosing the woods, layout, and general design of the block. He kept me up to date with pictures throughout the process, and delivered in a timely manner, ahead of schedule in fact. The knife block itself is a work of art. The woods are beautiful, the finish is amazing, and the craftsmanship is top notch. I would absolutely seek Mike's services for any future custom projects.

Mike Matthew created a beautiful, exquisite chest for us to memorialize our deceased infant son. The woodwork is beautiful, with elegant gold-plated handles, so that the chest can easily be moved from room to room. Mike engraved the chest with our son's name, and included a glass frame on the underside of the lid so that when opened, our son's hand and foot prints are viewed. He also included a drawer at the bottom of the chest so that we could store our son's birth certificate and other related documentation. Mike included thoughtful details, such as a magnet (unseen) at the back of the drawer so that it will always stay on its track. He also included beautiful gold hinges so that the chest will always close completely and the wood won't warp over time to do exposure to moisture. He included a lock so that we can keep the contents private. Finally, Mike was a pleasure to work with. He listened to our ideas and provided several of his own that together resulted in a beautiful chest. He completed the chest well ahead of schedule and was always prompt and responsive.
