This chest is constructed out of quarter-sawn white oak and lined with aromatic cedar. It was a wedding gift for my brother and wife. The letters carved in the drawer front are their initials and represent the woman's family joining the man's family . The panels are hand carved low relief separate pieces of quarter-sawn white oak. The entire case is then coated with a mixture of pigment, bees wax, and carnauba wax then buffed to a low luster.
