Art Glass Mosaic Chess Board - Celtic Roman Theme
This chess board features glass mosaic on a wood base and framed in wood. I designed it to accompany a set of chess pieces that represented the ancient struggle between the roman legions and the barbarian tribes. The double circle of red and gold around the check pattern represents the Roman chess pieces. The green triskell in each of the corners, an ancient symbol of the Celts, represents the tribal chess pieces. The glass has a rough, almost stone like quality which gave the piece a more rustic feel. The board measures approximately 26" x 26" with 1 3/4" squares. It is framed in wood.
