Walnut End Grain Chopping Board, Butcher Block, Island
Black walnut, either steamed or kiln dried, makes a very classy chef-quality end grain chopping board. Arranged in original grain patterns, often with larger and more stable pieces, and using hidden wood plate biscuits for extra stability. Available in any size, all my butcher blocks are hand-crafted from log or rough board selection to detail and finish with decades and even generations of hard daily use in mind.

We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
