Genuine END GRAIN ambrosia/spalted maple butcher block island top, made to custom order. This particular top measures 44" long by 29" wide and only 1.75" thick, and features a roman ogee edge detail. Custom counter tops intended for food prep come fully seasoned with my own Block Sauce, containing premium mineral oil and pure beeswax. Only end grain is built for generations of hard use, non-scarring and self-healing and keeping your good knives sharp. Why shouldn't something you use every day also be unique and beautiful? We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
