Wedding Gift Quilt
This client requested a quilt to give to her best friend as a wedding gift. She requested a tree in the center, covered with leaves and photos depicting the couple's journey to marriage: dating, proposal, bridal shower, "save the date" card and wedding invitation. Colorful batiks in colors that are favorites of the couple comprise the quilt front and a complementary batik is on the back. This quilt is lap size (approx 52 x 68 inches) and has 6 photos that were printed onto fabric. Similar quilts can be made to order in any size, color theme and include any number of photos and the cost will be based upon the the size, number of photos etc.

My decorative art quilts are meant to be hung on your walls. I use hand-dyed and commercial fabrics, sometimes adding textural layers. A variety of embellishments (beads, crystals, charms, silk leaves, and various fibers) often grace my quilts, and photographs can be added to bring each quilt to life. Family tree quilts (photos) will accommodate size of family. I invite your creative input to meet your design requirements and vision. Each commissioned piece is one-of-a-kind.

I wanted to pass along a meaningful gift of history and symbolism to my daughter, in honor of her upcoming wedding. Jane understood that vision and was able to take portions of my wedding dress (embellishments and lace), and use them to fashion a beautiful quilt that my daughter will be able to cherish and pass down. Within the design are pictures of four generations of women from our family when they married (with wedding dates and wedding photos). In addition, Jane kept me apprised of her progress and even finished the project several weeks ahead of schedule. In sum, Jane is masterful at her craft and she was very responsive to my needs as a customer. I will certainly work with her on future projects.
