Sea Captains Tansu Desk
This is my version of a 1800 Japanese tansu sea captain desk I saw in a book on Tansu. Solid sassafras wood case,with sycamore drawers, walnut base. Finished with shellac. Could be made from just about any wood of your choice . Would make a wonderful bed side table or side table.

Matthew's workmanship and attention to details (maple trim, turned legs, stained knobs) gives the desk incredible beauty. We had to wait longer than expected but I think the wait was well worth it! (And not unusual for upscale furniture). Matthew is a great guy to work with. If we had a need, we would contact Matthew!
