The Bay
The Bay is a multi-panel painting capturing the colors, rhythm and movement of the ocean. The cool blues, greens and grays describe the boisterous action of the water. Repeatedly layered, the transparent paint passages create a surface of rich, subtle complexity. Each of the seven panels have been created in the extreme format of 6 x 48 x 2" and together the seven parts measure 48 x 48 x 2". The piece has been created on wood panel supports, with substantial 2" deep sides. The image on the face of each panel has been painted to continue around the deep edges. This minimal piece is ready to be hung for a contemporary look.

My paintings are lyrical, atmospheric abstractions of meditation and memory. They are meant as resting places, serene escapes from our hectic, complex world, entry points to the rhythms and the quiet mysteries of our lives and our search for deeper connection. These paintings, with their subtle complexity, are repeatedly layered translucently in search of radiance, nuance and depth.
