River Table
A coffee table. Made of 1-3/4" thick poplar, a hardwood, and finished with a matte colorless varnish that protects the surface and encourages the grain to come out and show its beauty. Top is ¼" clear glass. Artwork and other objects can be displayed beneath the glass. Dimensions of model shown are 14" tall, 14" wide, and 45" long…but table can be made in several sizes and displayed in various ways…as a coffee table, side table, behind a free-floating couch….

I am a woodworker. I have a small shop making furniture in a casual style. Much of it has a natural, unfinished look (although it's actually coated for protection). A lot of use of metal brackets and exposed screws. An architect friend calls it a packing-crate aesthetic.
