Wine Bar Cabinet
It started with a simple need for wine storage and rocketed up into a vintage flavored show piece. After making the decision to have a bar cabinet built, the client came across a book shelf that was set on vintage casters and everything changed from there. Original designs were thrown out and we embarked on a weeks long search for the right set of casters. A set of vintage swivel rollers were chosen and they provided the vintage caster look but gave some style that different from the rest. With the rollers chosen, a new design was developed and the fabrication began. The bar features vintage hardware accents including the swivel rollers, corner straps made from old wine barrel strapping, salvaged steel rods, nails and drawer pull. There is space for 25 bottles in the rack, hangs a dozen wine glasses and has a convenient drawer for keeping the openers, glass charms and napkins on hand. The wine bar is made of birch, finished with a dark stain and a clear matte sealer. It measures out at 70" tall, 28" wide and 15" deep.

I am a builder by nature, my passion for wood working started in the school wood shop but didn't get into full swing until after college when I could afford to buy myself some quality tools. I was continuously disappointed with the quality of furniture products at the typical retail stores. Even when I could find good quality, it seemed that I could never quite find exactly what I liked. This led to the realization that I could just build exactly what I wanted. I would have complete control over design and quality.
As it turns out, the pieces I designed and built sparked lots of interest. People liked the idea of being able to have me build an item that they wanted with a few customizations to suit their homes or other needs. Other people had great designs in mind and they just needed an able pair of hands (and tools) to help make their ideas become reality. And this became the basis of my woodworking business….
