B.e.Long Pottery and Arts
Handmade stoneware pottery and arts reconnecting us to what is soulful and sacred. I am a former Presbyterian pastor (PCUSA) of nearly 17 years; still ordained but now exploring new forms of theology and ministry. My theology has evolved into a very open, "historical-critical" interpretive theology that longs for more interfaith dialogue. Essentially, it asks how we can be more fully human, which means more loving and more peaceful. I hope my pottery and art will reflect that theology and encourage others to explore the depths of their spirit too.
One of the exquisite characteristics of pottery is that it brings the richness of the earth shaped into beautiful forms into your home to be used every day. The clay I use is stoneware clay which is fired to cone 5 (mid-fire) and it has pulverized pieces of other fired clay in it to give it grit and texture, because as we know, life requires grit and texture even as we seek to shape it into something beautiful and colorful.
What beautiful pieces of art! Working with Long Pottery was easy and communication was prompt, Order was delivered on time, securely wrapped.
Loved this set as an ordination gift. Turned out beautifully in just the way we requested. Shipped on the date promised. Thank you for your great work!
I ordered this as a replacement for the chipped baptismal bowl in our church. Our priest found it on-line and thought that it was very much in keeping with tradition. It is prettier than the the picture shows. I can't wait to see Fr Mark's reaction.
Brent was wonderful to work with. He listened to my ideas for our custom pieces and gave artistic suggestions that enhanced the final product even more. The first time my husband used the communion set was just last week. The love and care that Brent put into creating each piece was realized by many. I am thankful for the talents that our Lord has given Brent to share and serve with.
