Custom portrait of your pet or favorite critter painted in acrylic on a gorgeous kiln dried, 1 5/8" inch thick round slice of basswood. Beautiful bark around the edges with lovely lichen and bits of moss detail. I'll create the artwork from your photos (photos don't have to be perfect!) Sealed with UV protective matte clear acrylic varnish. Hardware for hanging included. These thick basswood rounds are handcrafted from the finest quality Northern Michigan basswood trees. Rectangular planks and extra thick rounds and ovals are also available. I'm a professional artist specializing in fine art paintings, pet portraits and illustration. I have a fine arts degree with a major in graphic design. I've had over thirty-five years experience in creating custom artwork and design. I create artwork using a wide range of media: traditional watercolor, acrylic, oils, and pen and ink as well as modern hand-painted digital paintings on canvas and archival paper. I use only the highest quality archival materials in creating my work.

I had a pretty unique custom pet art project that I wasn't quite sure how to make it into reality, when I found MJ and shared the idea with her, she immediately started providing many ideas, examples and mockups to help me visualize it. She had many choices of the medium too, and we picked a beautiful wood cut out format in the end that I'd never have imagined to begin with! The creation process was smooth and full of fun, not being an artistic person myself, I asked for her expert opinions on many of my thoughts and she's given me such great advice, that the final art piece turned out stunning :) I already have another project in mind that I'd love to work with her on, I'll definitely be coming back to MJ in the near future!
