Moss And Bone Bear Sculpture

Deep in the forest, an ancient bear spirit sleeps. He is the protector of the forest, seldom glimpsed by human eyes. Spikes of bone protrude from his back. He has slept so long moss has grown to cover his fur. Tales of his existence have faded into myth and legend. "Moss and Bone" is sculpted from polymer clay over a lightweight metal and wire armature. After baking, he was sanded, primed and painted with artist quality acrylics. The moss was textured and painted with several shades of green. The entire piece was antiqued with sepia-tinted graphite paint. I then sealed him with several layers of matte varnish for protection. This is a one of a kind sculpture. There will never be another just like this. A wire armature supports each of the bear's bone spikes, but they should still be treated gently. This bear sculpture is 7.5 inches tall, 8 inches long, and about 5.5 inches wide.

I make odd and fantastic creatures that hail from strange lands and faraway places.

My sculptures are handmade and all one of a kind. No molds are ever used! I use ceramic, polymer and air-dry clays to make my creatures, then I glaze or paint them to get just the right look.

I also make handmade jewelry as well as acrylic paintings.

Please inquire if you would like a custom item made.

Due to the unique nature of my items, I am unable to make an exact reproduction of a previously sold item.
