Rocks and more rocks, painted hyper-realistically in liquid acrylics painted on a charming vintage table. There are at least a dozen heart shaped stones in the oval table top (30" X 19 "). How many can you find? I'll let you decide the total number as some are only hinted at! Of course there is a bug on one of the stones. The lower shelf is painted as a single slab of grey marble. The shelf is also painted on the underside so as to continue the Trompe L'oeil illusion. The legs remain their original dark brown stain but I added small grey diamonds to the graceful curves to visually connect the two painted surfaces. The table stands 29" tall and has a drawer tucked under the top tier. Shipping and handling to be determined by proposal.

I am Sue Banks, a self-taught artist who works in craft acrylics, usually on surfaces that do not require framing, such as furniture, household objects, and stones. I work on anything from vintage pieces to unfinished new items. Many of the projects shown here are examples of past work. Each project is always unique, and most are custom ordered. I work on items supplied by the client or on items procured in conjunction with a client’s request. I specialize in re-purposing items by decorating them with acrylic paint in hyper-realism and Trompe L'oeil style. I paint a very wide range of subject matter from flowers to stones to animals and insects to sneakers to teacups. My work is intensely colored, detail oriented and joyful. I work from actual objects and photos which are often supplied by the client, to create works to a client’s specifications. Working from reality is most effective for trompe l’oeil designs.
