Purpleheart And Holly Musical Jewelry Box
A 9.7 inch long by 6 inch high by 6 inch deep jewelry box made of 5/8 ths inch thick purple heart wood on the entire exterior, the sliding top is 3/4 inch thick wood forming a well deep enough under a removable bird to hide a key inside of. All birds are sculpted of holly wood and are 3/8ths inch above the surface of the box, some of the birds are one inch above the surface of the box. The front is 1/2 inch thick and slides upwards through a groove and be removable and it has a handle hold (pull) in the form of a sculpted holly wood bird.. A drawer is dovetailed together and made of light weight wood such as pine, with a sculpted handle on the front and to be velvet lined, the drawer has a brass lock and key. Also it has an "Invite by Voice" type computer programmable sound card installed of 1.7 to 4.65 minutes run time that is light activated when the sliding front is opened. Both the front and the top slide open. Naturally purple wood, not stained or dyed, the purple goes "clear to the bone"

Working alone, I state working alone because nearly everything that I design and make are works of art made by me alone and signed by me for 20+ years, Ralph produces furnishings and signs rebelling against "mechanical mediocrity" refusing to work within the limitations imposed by machines and produce objets d'art which can only be accomplished with many hours/days/weeks/months of hand tooling.
To summarize, I am an artisan, not merely a furniture maker. Thank you for your interest in my fascination.

For Pet Doberman Agility3.5Ralph was very helpful during the process. It was a bit slower than I thought it would be, but that probably reflects me and not Ralph. The final product looks great and I can't wait to see it. My only concern is that both Ralph and I are busy and it is difficult to get a day/time to have him deliver the final work. I would recommend that Custom Made include in their options a shipping option where the final product can be shipped to the client by overnight delivery. This way I could already be enjoying the final product which is a gift to my wife - I was hoping to give it to her for Valentine's Day

He followed my instructions on design, but the wooden box he made looked hot glued together, and there was even a hole in the bottom where it looked like he ran out of good wood. The box was not sanded or finished. Over all I am very displeased with his work.

Communication is essential and Ralph will keep you informed. Even when we had a small miscommunication (which wasted some of Ralph's time), he fixed the detail (even if he didn't need to) to give me an amazing piece!
