Great Gatsby Dress
This project was for a New Years Eve event in which the theme of the event was The Great Gatsby. The client wanted a similar replica of the dress seen in the movie minus the bejeweled belt. The original dress was made out of velvet but the client wanted a dress that had more structure. The base and lining was made out of a medium weight black satin that was light enough to flow but heavy enough for her not to have to wear undergarments. The neck piece was all hand sewn with crystals, rhinestones, and jeweled trim. The dress was fitted to just below the hips, then flowed to a shallow flare with split in the front. This was definitely a fun dress to make and I absolutely LOVED the neck piece! This is a custom item and it can be altered to suit your needs and/or your budget. My company was created to display the beauty, abstract, and artistic side of my personality. Everything designed and created represents me as a person and is handmade by yours truly. I am a colorful, unique, detailed, artistic and fun-loving person. My art expands from canvass to clothing and everywhere in between.
Designing and sewing were gifts I grew up having, that I fine-tuned after graduation. I attended college focusing on designing and illustration, pattern making, draping, high end construction, and finishing. All in all I can make a delicious Couture garment.
I love designing and making original and couture clothing, especially, dresses and gowns. I love styles from the soft and romantic to the funky and fun, and everything in between. I am inspired by the 1920's-1940's era. Women were glamorous and their clothing expressed such style giving them a look that was expensive and priceless at the same time.
I want my clients vision to come to life. I want them to fall in love with how they look when they see themselves in my designs.
