As an environmental educator I enjoy connecting people with the wonders of our natural world. I have a tremendous amount of interest in the trees that shape our forests- from their ability to sustain our ecosystems to their uniqueness and beauty. These beer paddles are crafted using local, sustainable hardwoods including walnut, wormy chestnut and heart pine. They come complete with 4-6 beer tasting glasses made in the USA. All wood is from here in the Southern Appalachians. A natural or "live" edge can be included if requested. Paddles are approximately 1 inch thick and can be crafted in a number of desired shapes and sizes based upon personal preference. Cost is based upon size ($0.40 per square inch). Initial (shown) or other customization also available. Treated with a beeswax, mineral oil mixture.

I am a professional environmental educator and naturalist in Western North Carolina who enjoys using locally harvested and reclaimed hardwoods in designing and building functional woodwork.
I have a strong interest in creating works that highlight the biodiversity and character of the Southern Appalachians. If that appeals you you, let me know!
The wood I use in all projects is sustainably harvested and in most cases locally sourced. I do not use any exotic hardwoods, as these are often not harvested sustainably and create a large environmental impact by shipping them to the United States. All wood glue is food-safe when cured and waterproof. Finishes are all non-toxic.

For Appalachian Edge Grain Hardwood Cutting BoardsJonathon did a fabulous job with a custom made butcher block that now sits inside our counter. I was able to send him a template and measurements which he absolutely nailed! He used local North Carolina black walnut mixed in with other woods to give it a beautiful contrasting look. His prices are very reasonable. I will certainly use him again as well as recommend him to others.

For Appalachian Edge Grain Hardwood Cutting BoardsI ordered a custom cutting board for my boyfriend, who does his own woodworking and can be quite picky. Working with Jonathan was great. He communicated well with me and rushed the order to get it to me by Christmas. I loved the final product, and even more importantly, by boyfriend did too! He even pointed out how well made it was. I would definitely recommend to a friend!
