A sofa table I designed for an individual who wanted something a bit more substantial in size and utility. The dimensions of the table are 52"W X 32"H X 24" Deep allowing it to easily perform the role of a serving or even a small breakfast table when needed. The table is constructed from 100% solid slow-growth quartersawn white oak reclaimed from a mule barn on our family farm built in the 1800's. -All Wood Joinery -Legs are mortised through the top exposing two of the edges. -Spalting -finished in cherry danish oil Historically the sofa-table often played the role of the dinner table in homes or apartments where space was often limited. At the time it was not uncommon for these tables to feature foldout leaves or even extensions. It seems now that the 'utility' side of the sofa table is often overlooked, as the focus tends to be on it as solely an accent piece. With just a bit of extra wood these pieces are extraordinarily versatile, much more than then the 12"-19" deep tables, which seem to be about all many manufacturer's offer these days. This is not to say they don't make beautiful accent pieces, just that it seems a bit of their versatility has been lost in an effort to market so many different tables for very specific aesthetic roles, losing much of the original versatility and utility these tables were originally designed to encompass.

Fine handmade furniture and goods from locally sourced sustainably harvested wood.. All projects are designed and built by me, William Ney - I'm a one-man show. My aim is to build quality furniture from reclaimed and sustainably harvested hardwoods that will last for generations. One of my dining tables was recently featured in the "Kitchen Tours of the Bluegrass" held in Lexington, KY, in July, 2013.
Thanks for looking. Any and all questions are not only welcome, but encouraged.

For Dining Table And Benches Reclaimed White Oak With Hairpin LegsWe ordered a 84" reclaimed wood dining table with two benches from William and we couldn't be more impressed. From the final finishes, to the shipping, to the assembly, we're thoroughly pleased with the work. A great value, better than anything we could have bought at West Elm or other big box stores. Thanks Will!

For Dining Table And Benches Reclaimed White Oak With Hairpin LegsMy wife and I had been looking for the perfect table for our breakfast area, and we didn't just want a table, but a place where family and friends could gather and make memories together. When I found the CustomMade page, and William Ney's table, my wife said, "That's it!" The proposal was acceptable, and we immediately committed to buy the table and benches. My wife was hosting a baby shower for a dear friend the weekend after we got the table. Everything with the delivery was perfect. It was a snap to assemble and we are enjoying it already and can't wait to celebrate it with our friends and family. After conversing with Will several times during the process, I know that he is not just a furniture-maker, but a craftsman and an artisan. His work is unique. I would heartily recommend William Ney's work again.

For rustic tableI couldn't be happier. This man is an artist. Not only does he love what he does, he takes pride in his work and is extremely conscientious and meticulous. The table I ordered is a work of art. Hard to find these days. I will be ordering more pieces from Will in the future !
