Custom Illustrated Family Portrait
I created this piece for a sweet and fun-loving family. They described to me that they enjoyed going for walks in their neighborhood and the woods. They also told me a story of how their little boy refused to sit in the wagon they always brought along, but insisted on pulling it himself. They thought it might be funny to show the boy pulling his parents along for a ride. I decided to make it an action-packed scene, with the boy running at top speed while his parents barrel along behind for a joyful/harrowing ride. The family also asked for certain details to be included, such as the owl, the initials carved in the tree, and the boy's special look-alike doll. I created the final piece in watercolor, colored pencil, and graphite on Stonehenge paper.
