Who are we at Ore Dock Design? We are a reclaimed wood furniture and art company that is located in the heart of Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula. Our workshop is located in a hundred year old barn on the shores of Lake Superior. This is also where you will find the historic ore docks that are made of the same wood and metals that our furniture is.
What do we do? We design and build furniture and art using reclaimed woods and combining them with natural stone, tile, and metal. We are passionate about using and reclaiming these materials to make unique, one of a kind pieces that you simply cannot buy in the store. We also believe that by reclaiming and upcycling these materials, it helps preserve history and allows our items to tell a story of where it came from. We love to couple these woods with iron pipe and metals to create industrial and rustic furniture.
Why choose us? Because all of our pieces are handcrafted from the best materials and to the highest quality. We also come from generations of honest, hard working carpenters who know how to treat a customer and what quality is all about. At the end of the day we are proud to put our name on all our products and stand behind anything that leaves our shop. We will not put anything in your home that we would not be willing to put in our own. We will also work with you to create a one of a kind, custom piece, that not one else has.
Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have and if you do not see what you are looking for please let us know. We have the ability and know how to work with you and create a one of a kind custom piece that no one else has. We hope our passion for what we do shows in our work and hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as we do!

For Round Reclaimed Wood Table With Metal BaseI am in LOVE with my table!!! I would TOTALLY do business with them again and probably will. I got the tracking info when the table shipped and it didn't work... so I tried contacting the vendor to see what happened... but then the table showed up a few days later! LOVE LOVE LOVE it! THanks

For Elizabeth's Dining TableI had asked for a table with most important feature being a durable finish as it will be a daily use table (i.e. I did not want to worry about putting mugs, cups, etc on it). I needed the table by a certain date and was assured that it could be done. The table arrived a week late and the shipper dropped it off on the sidewalk and refused to even bring it to the door (shipping was almost $500, a third of the cost of the table!!!) . I had to ask a neighbor to help me bring it in the house from the sidewalk!!! The table itself at first look was fine. But on closer inspection, there was an oil stain that was left and the table wobbles considerably. All of which I can over look because it is a nice looking table. However, after 24 hours of use, there were 2 ring stains and several other marks. Definitely not what I asked for or expected. If I do not sell it on Craig's list, I will probably have to have it refinished properly. Very disappointed.
