End Grain Walnut And Maple Wood Cutting Board
Beautiful, handcrafted one-of-a-kind cutting board made from maple and walnut hardwoods. This one-of-a-kind cutting board is constructed in the 'end-grain' butcher block style. Meaning the end grain of the lumber is facing up as your cutting surface. This provides a very durable surface that will not dull your knives as quickly as an edge grain butcher block. This butcher block is a solid 1.5 inch and 12"X16" All hardwoods are locally sourced in Blowing Rock NC American made with American wood! We know you will appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of each butcher block we create in our small shop. Each cutting board is finished with Howard butcher block conditioner as well as a 3 coats of a food safe oil. For longevity we only use food safe FDA approved, waterproof wood glue. We can do other custom sizes and island counter tops, just drop us an email. The board you will receive is the same design as the one pictured although it may not be the same board. Living in the North Carolina mountains has its own inspirations and woodworking has become one for us. We love creating unique one of a kind pieces from simple end tables to multi piece spaces. We have been commissioned by global hotel/restaurants as well our work is carried nationally in various retailers. We are fortunate to work with designers from NYC to Malibu, CA. With the mindset to keep all products made in the USA, after having enough broken pieces from over seas that have toxic properties that are destroying our planet. On all furniture pieces that Blowing Rock WoodWorks builds we use reclaimed or sustainable woods.
With a combination of reclaimed woods, fine woods all hand selected to ensure a beautiful heirloom piece. Keeping everything made in the USA is our mission and repurposing materials that will last forever only makes sense for sustainability.
From smaller projects like a desk to larger projects like a 15 person live edge dining table you'll appreciate the thought that goes into each project, allowing for an heirloom your family will enjoy for years to come!

Jan 5, 2018This table looks terrific in the room we intended for it. The workmanship is good and it was easy to assemble. Love that it is made with reclaimed materials. Only downside is that it came by HUGE semi that couldn't make a turn I. Our cul de sac. So we had to meet the shipper a mile away and make a transfer. A UPS sized truck or small van would have made more sense.
