Japanese Andon
Japanese Andon light with 4 different kumiko patterns (Tsuno Asa No Ha, Yae Asa No Ha (top), Kasane Rindo, Goma Gara Kikko). Woods used are Sapele, Curly Maple, Linden, and Ash. Panels are backed with water marked washi paper and can be removed if the paper ever gets damaged. Most of the joinery is hand cut and all the wood is hand planed. Finish is a custom oil and varnish blend 25" high, 22.5" widest

Kolva Fine Woodworking is a small custom wood working shop in Evergreen, Colorado. I specialize in hand crafted fine furniture with Arts & Crafts, Shaker, Scandinavian, and Asian influences.
Each piece of furniture is built from the finest, hand selected materials and built with impeccable craftsmanship with attention and sensitivity to the smallest details. I take pride that the undersides and backs of my work are finished to the same exacting detail as the main surfaces. Many makers use plywood for the backs of their work, notice that my cabinet work all have frame and panel backs that are equal in craftsmanship to the fronts. Each piece should be able to stand alone in the open as well as being placed along a wall.
