Pagoda Style Jewelry Box In Quilted And Curly Maple

$399

The piece pictured is available. Your beautiful and precious jewelry deserves an equally as beautiful home. Bob Dickey's Pagoda style jewelry box with quilted maple drawer fronts and curly maple top and sides. The grooves in the drawers actually ride on the diamond shaped runners that are visible in the front. Walnut splines help hold the drawers together and add a decorative touch. 2 dimensional pictures cannot do the figure and chatoyance of these woods justice. They have a 3 dimensional look that just begs to be touched. Drawers are lined with black silver-cloth with an acid free backing to help protect and preserve your precious metals for years to come. Hand crafted wooden drawer pulls are curly maple. Finish is shellac and lacquer rubbed out by hand. Overall (outside dimensions) are 9 1/2" x 14" x 9" high. Drawer dimensions (outside) are 8" x 10" x 1 3/4".

I have always had a passion for woodworking. I have been working with wood in one form or another since I was 16 years old. I spent my high school summers and the following 5 years working for a general contractor doing remodels, additions and homes in the Boulder, CO area. My favorite part of that was always doing the custom stuff. Built in entertainment centers, bookshelves, custom cabinets and handrails. So I spent the next few years working for a high end cabinet and millwork shop doing most of their work in the Aspen, CO area. With access to an array of tools and lots of "scrap" wood It was here that my love of fine furniture and my skills really developed. Slowly my own tool collection grew and so did my desire to get away from production work and more into hand crafted custom items, and making the kind of stuff that gets passed down from generation to generation.

I have been pursuing my passion nearly full time on my own for five years now. I say "nearly" because with my wife working part time, I am blessed enough to get to spend three days a week with my two beautiful kids.

I enjoy all types and styles of furniture, from Arts and crafts & Greene and Greene to modern and contemporary. I will tackle all types of projects from big to small. I've done everything from entertainment centers, to jewelry and keepsake boxes, dining tables, coffee tables, chairs, blanket chests, dressers, custom trim, shelving, and mantels. I've even done a couple of really nice pet coffins. : (

I really like seeing my visions come to life in the form of fine furniture, and turning a stack of rough lumber into something beautiful that will last a lifetime. I would love to build something custom for you, and help you make your vision come to life as well.
