This job came from a customer looking for a cane that utilized a BMW Shifter as a cane handle. This was fun and challenging project to make. It features a genuine Leather Shifter from the manufacturer mounted on a lathed turned and painted shank with polished chrome collar and tip. These would make a great gift for the car enthusiast in your life. Based on your request I can incorporate handles from the manufacturer or create a custom wooded handle to your liking, I look forward to your ideas. I am a woodworker who specializes in custom walking sticks and canes with a focus on traditional English and Irish style walking sticks, many times with my own added twist.
With each item I aim to incorporate the uniqueness of the wood I am using and capture that beauty in the finish product. My walking sticks and canes are made to provide support for rugged hiking, stability in walking or for the collector. I make a variety of other wood products including jewelry and keepsake boxes, tobacco pipes, props and "magic wands".

    I just received the second cane Rafe did for me and, as much as I love the first one he did, I think I'm going to like this one even better. He listened to my request for a pistol grip that would fit my palm and fingers better so it should be more comfortable for longer stretches of use. Like the first one, this one is a thing of beauty. I highly recommend Rafe Demers for the quality and aesthetics of his work, as well as for his good, prompt communication.
