Spirit Bear Wall Light
This pattern originally started as a deck gate on a house below Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak near Estes Park. The home owner asked for a mountain scene. I asked what else she liked and she asked for a bear. I find bears to be powerful and mysterious. I have always liked the Zuni fetishes and this mimics their depiction of the bear. It was serendipity, that the lightning flash through the bear looks like the silhouette of Meeker and Long in the background. This can be used interior or exterior. It is made of mild steel with art glass glazing.

After three decades of firefighting I cast about for another career doing something completely different. High on my list of attributes, I looked for a career where I could express myself and delight others with my passion for craftsmanship. Living in the Rocky Mountains stimulates my senses and provides constant inspiration for creative ideas.
I have had my shop for ten years now and although I had quite a bit of experience in building things, I have found real fulfillment in continuing to learn new skills and solving problems giving customers, what they wish for. My business is a one man shop and virtually everything is custom made. Most of my projects start with customer consultation. Sometimes customers have a full fledged idea with pictures. Some come with a "napkin sketch" and some come to me asking for ideas. Most of the time I can provide them with a CAD drawing of what the project will look like for approval. Among other tools I have a CNC plasma cutting table and much of my work features detailed silhouettes. This has allowed many projects that are personal to the customer.
