Coffee Table, Live Edge Coffee Table, Modern Coffee Table, Spins 360

$550

Talk about cool! This amazingly figured slab of sustainably sourced maple contains; spalting, curly & fiddleback figuring in a crotch cut. The base is an upcycled metal pedestal stand from the 70's. The base itself is not fixed and allows for the top to swivel 360 degrees in both directions. Imagine how awesome this Lazy Susan-like feature is when asked to pass the chips…..simply push one end and it will rotate around. If interested in seeing this bad boy in action, just ask and I'll shoot you a video of it spinning. This piece has been planed flat, sanded smooth and contains a wood varnish and poly film finish for moisture and grubby paw protection. This wild one wild and unusual piece! Measures: 33" L x 14 1/2" - 20 3/4" W x 17 1/2" H.

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
