Walnut End Table, Side Table, Walnut, Steel Legs, Mcm

$395

This table can be used as a side table, end table, bed stand, night stand, plant stand, etc. It is awesome! The wood is old growth walnut that was harvested in downtown Nashville years ago. The wood has been air dried for over 3 years and kiln dried for 24 hours to rid off any bugs that called this wood home. It has been worked and finished with a home brewed wood varnish and finished with multiple thin coats of a satin Zero VOC Urethane to protect the wood. The top is rough cut and not perfectly square or dimensional. 1 side has a natural edge. This type of wood displays character such as: bug holes from when once standing, drying checks, unusual grains patterns and astounding colors. The legs are four 3-bar steel hairpin legs clearcoated for protection. Table measures around 21" L x 20" W and stands 23 1/4" H. Price is for exact table pictured. Ready to ship!

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
