This piece is a collaboration between myself (woodworker/furniture designer) and my brother (modern artist/painter). I worked a sustainable slab of Honey Locust & he painted it. The modern geometric designs and colorful neon colors he used created a rocking juxtaposition between modernism & nature. The four raw steel hairpin legs have been clear coated and add an industrial flair to the piece. The wood has been sealed in poly to protect the table and the artwork on the top. This is a big and bold piece and not for the faint of heart, but perfect for those with a vision for uniqueness and love of art as a whole. This would make an excellent coffee table, side table, end table, end of bed table, hallway table, window table, foyer table or bench. Your guests will not be able to say they have one of these at their house! Measures 52 3/4" L x 13 1/2"- 20" w x 18 3/8" H. This piece is finished and ready to ship! Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or for more photographs! Thanks!

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.
Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
