Rustic Coffee Table- Industrial Coffee Table- Live Edge Coffee Table- Distressed Wood

$600

This rustic and industrial coffee table is made out of a single slab of Eastern Red Cedar. The long narrow slab was cut into half and joined to create a nice rectangular live edge coffee table. The wood was charred and hit with black dyes to create a more rustic, distressed and reclaimed wood look. Although it appears rustic, it's as smooth as silk and user-friendly. The top has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in an oil and poly combo. The table can withstand hot plates, cold drinks and won't complain if you want to kick your feet up on it. The bases are 1" x 2" tubular steel finished in an Industrial look (low sheen gray). The finished piece measures 28 7/8" L x 23" avg W x 15 3/4" H. The natural wooden top itself is 1 5/8" thick. This piece is ready to ship!

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.

Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
