This live edge piece can be used as a desk, console table, sofa table, foyer table or even small dining table. The natural wooden top is made from a live edge slab of oak. The wood was naturally altered to replicate the fuming process. The end results took this light tan slab and transformed it into a weathered gray, chocolate and hint of purple beauty. It resembles mineralized 'sinker' lumber (logs reclaimed from waterways) in that the colors displayed are subtle, unique and not like any other slab of oak. The top was finished in a zero VOC satin film finish. This hard and protective coating will protect the wood against heat, moisture, scratching, etc. Placed on four raw steel hairpin legs that have been clear coated, this beautiful piece is ready to ship! This is a really cool piece that would fit in any modern, traditional, rustic, contemporary or mid century space. If you have any questions about this unique piece of furniture, feel free to send them my way! Thanks! Measures: 42"l x 19" d x 29" H. The wooden top is 1 1/4" thick

Kentucky LiveEdge is operated by craftsman Drew Gahafer. He creates quality live edge furniture and unique applications for home and office.
Drew Gahafer is a self-taught woodworker, artist and furniture designer that got his start by upcycling furniture that was either thrown away, neglected, or purchased for mere pennies at yard sales or consignment shops. Plastics, glass, metals and wood were all materials that he was intrigued on refurbishing and building with. In 2008 he built his family home, which was a narrow shotgun style house. After weeks of housing the traditional square coffee table, he realized the dimensions took up 1/3 of the rooms space. In an effort to create something customized for his home space, he traveled back to his roots and brought back 2 narrow live edge slabs from a sawmill in Eastern Kentucky. By the time his first two pieces were near completion, his family and friends made offers on both pieces. He obliged and returned to the mountains for 5 live edge slabs of wood. Once those 5 were near completion, same story. To this day, his home lacks a coffee table.
