This is a hand turned solid wood lamp made from 5 separate layers of Brazilian Leopard Wood, Peruvian Walnut, & African Padouk. The body of the lamp measures 21 inches tall by 5+ inches wide. I am Wynn Whitener. I am from western North Carolina, which is the furniture capital of the world. I come from a tradition of woodworkers, many of whom have spent their careers creating fine furniture here in North Carolina.
I specialize in woodturning. I create items which are both aesthetic and functional. My items are made from beautiful woods from all over the world. Some of the woods that I especially like using are leopardwood, padouk, purpleheart, walnut, and many of the more highly figured woods. I also take pride in using the nicest finishes that can be found anywhere. The combination of great turning, great woods, and great finishes creates a stunning effect in my work.
