For this commissioned, original work, I used my knowledge of using unusual glass techniques and hand-crafted metal finishes to create a stunning, yet functional, blend of sculpture and furniture. The curvilinear base of the table is made out of decorative forged metal – corten steel with a leathered texture – sculpted into two swirling, serpents that support the glass top at either end, and intertwine in the middle to create an ellipse on the floor. The table's surface is composed of five layers of glass – three clear glass layers within which float two layers of tempered, shattered safety glass – creating a pattern of crackled glass sandwiched between the smooth exterior layers, a technique we pioneered as custom glass fabricators.

About Me I believe the single most important part of creating custom work, is meeting with each client face-to-face and listening to them. It is through these types of encounters that I usually pick up on the intangibles - the things that exist only in the ether. About Jaroff Design I founded Jaroff Design 33 years ago to provide custom high-end architectural metal and glass to the architecture, construction, interior design and art communities. I am a formally educated and trained artist with a BFA in Metalwork and Sculpture from R.I.T. My background and experience inform every project.
