Hewn Mantel With Metal Straps And Corbels
AVAILABLE NOW! This fireplace mantel was crafted from wonderful hand hewn oak timber out of an 1800s vintage barn in SW Wisconsin. The original 10x10 has been cut in 1/2 to create a nice rectangular piece. The top has been cut smooth for your decorations, but the face and bottom show of the original old ax-work. The piece is accented with metal straps, corbels, and rings. The rings have some stiffness to allow some flexibility in your decorating. This exact piece is 4.5in tall x 9.5in deep x 71in long. The metal corbels descent 13in from the bottom. They are positioned appoximately 12in in from the ends. This exact piece is available and could be shipped immediately. We could potentially cut this piece shorter. We can also craft similar ones to meet your size and environment requirements. This pieces is priced for 6ft at $115/LF for the wood mantel and $525 for the metalwork. We should be able to ship via FedEx Gnd for $125.

These beam mantels are the real thing – many with ax marks from American settlers in the 1800s. There’s no “distressing” in our shop; it’s all original. We sand and finish to make each beam a thing of beauty. Our blacksmith partners can add a wonderful variety of accents to each piece.
