Ash Hardwood Mortise And Tenon Writing Desk

$1,200

This is a solid table made from hardwoods. The top is made with ash, the base is built from the hardest of red oaks. The entire desk is constructed with mortise and tenon joinery. This is an original item, custom built from my design. To make certain this table remains sturdy and strong, oak pegs and PBA glue were used to lock the tenons in place. The finish is a natural finish, made from our very own homemade mixture. It leaves a slight satin sheen, but clearly displays the beauty of this ash top and the wildness of the grain on the red oak frame. This is the type of desk you buy to keep in your family for generations, passing it on along with the stories and memories that were created with it. The mortise and tenon joint has been used for thousands of years by woodworkers around the world to join planks of wood, mainly when the adjoining pieces that connect at an angle of 90°. In its basic form it is both simple and strong. Although there are many joint variations, the basic mortise and tenon comprises two components: the mortise hole and the tenon tongue. The tenon, formed on the end of a member, is inserted into a square or rectangular hole cut into the corresponding member. The tenon is cut to fit the mortise hole exactly and usually has shoulders that seat when the joint fully enters the mortise hole. The joint may be glued, pinned, or wedged to lock it in place. 48"l x 20"d x 31"h

Consider Him Inc. is a custom furniture-making business started by my wife, Kristin, and myself. We love to do all that we can together, God has greatly blessed us with a wonderful relationship! This enables us to spend a large amount time together building beautiful handmade wood furniture. We enjoy making wood tables and desks, and soon to come will be a great variety of wood-work benches.

We not only desire to work together, we also desire to have the flexibility to be able to fulfill the never-ending great commission given by God to all Christians in His word, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15.

It is a great honor to serve Jesus Christ, we intend to order our lives in such a way that we can spend our days working hard and preaching the gospel! Much of our time is spent participating in local ministries; which include nursing homes, public evangelism, tract distribution and Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF).

We reside here in the quaint city of Deland, Florida and we attend the Deland School of the Bible. Working hard, studying hard and evermore desiring to serve the risen Saviour!

Have you heard the good news? "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10)."

Consider Him Inc. was formed as the working title for our business that it might daily remind us - "For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds."

Kristin and myself work hard to provide their customers with quality, hand-crafted furniture. We do not practice an "assembly-line mentality" we do not want to produce low-grad furnitutre. We practice and attempt to perfect the art of joinery; and have made the decision to use as few power tools as possible. This helps to ensure that each product is truly made by hand.

We strive to be original, producing one-of-a-kind articles of furniture or decor made from quality hard woods. Not only do the Kristin and I use high-grade, hard woods; but they are also, sometimes, afforded the luxury of hand-picking a cut of wood from a tree for a specific project idea. Furthermore, we love the grit and character of a beautiful reclaimed wood, repurposed to make a one of a kind piece of furniture.

Consider Him Inc. strives to provide it's customers with furniture able and worthy to be passed on for generations to come, and we would be honored to do that very thing for you!
