My Son is a hat fancier and I just hate tossing good pieces of beautiful wood. Creating my other pieces leaves ends and short pieces. So while the stain and finish are drying one of the things I do is make hat racks. Since a young age my little collector loves hats of all kinds: The Top hat, Bowler, The Manhattan, Greek Fisherman, Fedora and not to mention a Fez. So I designed the hat rack to get the hats off every flat surface in his room. The hat rack became popular with folks coming up with different configurations for their own needs. Handmade of White Oak, but many species of wood are available; I just need your brim and crown measurements to make one fit for you. The hat racks can be custom stained to compliment your furniture or set it apart, a color chart is available. This month I am working with African Mahogany and will be using a clear finish to let the grain shine

Making furniture for other people is a pure pleasure. To work with someone while they discover what they want their piece to be and fulfilling that vision is a great feeling. Starting in 2013 I sought to create unique pieces for everyday use and custom pieces made to order. The first year found wonderful acceptance of the Hanging Display Cabinet and Outdoor Patio Cabinet and of course the Hat Racks, Display Shelf and Hanging Drawers that are a by-product of our work.
I am motivated with designs of the Arts and Crafts, Gustav Stickley, Greene & Greene among others. From large pieces that make a statement in a room to small knick-knack items it are just too much fun to make.
The big challenge in 2015 was moving from Texas to Montana and getting the shop set up and finding good BBQ. Well I have and I haven’t. My first piece here is a Greene & Greene inspired bed and night stand to be followed up by a pair of William Morris chairs and tables.
I hope you will enjoy the pieces you see here as I enjoy making them.
