Phillip J. Nunes - Illustrator
I am a local illustrator in my home town of Hanford, California. I have been very interested in art and practicing it since 1999 and, as anything somebody loves enough, I've made art a large part of my life. I was a young boy when I started and the initial attraction of art to me was the simple idea of being able to share with others the things that I saw and felt. The way that I began sharing these thoughts and concepts and emotions of mine was through drawing. I drew anything and just about everything from dinosaurs to spacemen and from zoo animals to comic book heroes. Eventually I moved on to doing portraits of friends and family and this caught the attention of my older sister who paid for me to take painting classes during my Junior year of high school. While taking classes, I got to know one of my favorite and most influential artists from my childhood: Rey Ruiz.

Rey is another local artist out of Hanford who is particularly well known for his flawless paintings of nostaligic cars and classic pick-ups. He taught me how to use acrylics and later down the road, I took up watercolor painting. After high school, my art slowed down with my mind being on other things. With that, my well-being began to suffer as well. I wasn't doing what I loved and something big was missing… my art.

More recently, I've decided to pick it back up again, this old friend of mine, this tool that helps me see what is inside my soul and show others as well. I now draw comic book art primarily, taking up inking and colors too, but I still draw and paint just about everything again. I want to eventually illustrate my own original written works, open an interactive, entertaining themed art gallery, among a plethora of various other future projects.
And now my life is getting back to where it should be. I am feeling more like myself again and these inner expressions of mine are being brought back to life! In addition to creating for myself, I am now dedicated to creating for you! I will create just about anything on a paper or canvas, focusing on bringing your ideas to life for you. I will create anything from Comic Book characters to RPG characters and from portraits of families and pets to images of homes and classic vehicles. So here's to keeping our hands drawing, our minds creating, and our hearts building… building who we are and who we want to be!
