Black Walnut Mantel And Corbels

$3,500

This is a Black Walnut Mantel and Corbels. The mantel is 49 1/4 inches wide, 11 inches deep, and 8 1/2 inches high. The walnut is from a tree I harvested nearly a year ago in Lincoln, New Mexico. The top is rounded at the corners and the face of the mantel is rounded to match the top. As is seen, the grain in the wood runs around the corners and flows from end to end. The mantel is held tight to the wall with a french cleat The corbels are 32 inches long, 8 inches wide, at the widest point, and 2 5/8 inches thick. The corbels are held tight to the wall with keyhole plates and screws and have a mortise and tenon fit to the bottom of the mantel and have square pegs to hold them tight to the mantel. The mantel top, face, and corbels have inlaid turquoise placed in a discreet and pleasing manner so as not to overpower the wonderful grain and figure of the wood.

I create heirloom quality custom furniture and gifts. I have completed commissioned pieces for individuals and a military museum. Each piece is created with fine details and craftsmanship.

Each piece of furniture is made of the type of wood that is chosen by the customer. I have designed and created pieces to fit customers' homes and have also created pieces that are made per professional plans. I have created architectural accent pieces at the request of a customer who was renovating a historical home.

Customer will also have the choice of finish and hardware. Any other detail requested by the customer will be discussed prior to beginning the actual project.
