The "York" coffee table is a unique rustic industrial design that features a magazine shelf to set aside typical coffee table clutter like reading materials and remotes. It is made of weathered reclaimed barn wood siding from a late 1800's barn that I salvaged in Sodus, NY. The barn wood has been cleaned, de-nailed and re-milled into slats. The weathered wood has been slightly sanded and finished with a tung oil blend to protect the wood and highlight the reclaimed old growth pine. The barn wood slats have been securely fastened to a pair of fully welded steel legs. The steel legs feature a blackened patina and hot waxed finish, completing that classic rustic industrial design that looks equally great in a rural country home or an urban loft setting. -Shipping included to continental United States - Other locations please contact for a shipping quote. Materials will have subtle differences that will include old nail holes and slight aging cracks. Due to the weathered reclaimed wood, this wood has been slightly sanded to remove splinters but still has the potential to give off a splinter with rough handling. This wood may not be suitable with households with small children. Care & Maintenance; Wood;Dry dust with vacuum cleaner and bristled brush as needed. My work is unique hybrid contemporary line of home furnishings and sculpture. Influences come from the materials I use and the inspiration from life itself. Each piece is carefully designed and constructed to assume balance and harmony among its contrasting materials. Careful thought and creativity go into each piece from the inception of the design to its final form.
I creatively melds elements of urban, architectural and environmental design to create pieces of lasting beauty and the perfect combination of form and function. My work is derived from hardwoods, metal, and glass. Additionally I use sustainable or reclaimed materials and objects when appropriate for the piece. Each design features my self developed techniques. By using ordinary domestic materials I enhanced them with these processes and carving uncommon materials such as glass and metal. This results in innovative textures and finishes which bring beauty and an unexpected element of surprise
