Art Nouveau Dining Set

$2

This is a contemporary version of Art Nouveau I designed for a couple in Portland Oregon. This is Oregon Claro Walnut, Figured Eastern Red Maple, and Western Fiddleback Maple inlays. The set includes 12 chairs I designed as well, see separate listings for photos, details and pricing of the chairs and a game table posted elsewhere. This is an extension table 6ft - 12 ft long. The price indicated is for the table only, see separate listings for the chairs and the game table. The inlays are a stylized implication of the meandering Willamette River which is seen from their window on the 22nd floor of their condo. If you go to the game table photos you can see the river in the background. The table top is handmade and bookmatched walnut veneer. The time frame below is unrealistic, please contact the maker for details, timing and many different ways to approach this design which may include budget adjustments either (+ or -).

I am a furniture designer and maker, specializing in unique custom furniture and accessories. Since 1982 I have designed and created furniture commissions here in Oregon and throughout the US. I am a graduate of Fine Arts, with a focus in painting, drawing and sculpture at San Francisco State University in 1974. Essentially self taught I began my career in San Francisco exploring unusual and sculptural furniture. I moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1977.

My passion for the fine arts has always been a significant and contributing inspiration with my furniture designs, in fact for many years my personal work involved story telling with both functional and nonfunctional furniture designs. I have taught at the college level in both furniture and fine art, and have taught many workshops as well. Maybe because of my unusual approach, my willingness to take chances in design, and at times my quirkiness, I have been fortunate enough to be published and featured often in the media, have shown in galleries and museums, and have received numerous awards for my work.

My love and search for a better design isn't confined simply to tables but finds me using chairs, tables, chests, consoles, lighting, candles, menorahs, entry tables, beds and bedroom accessories, coffee or cocktail tables, side tables of all kinds, home accessories of any description to tell my story. My inspirations come from both architectural and environmental interests. Through the years I have explored contemporary and unique versions of many styles such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, PostModern, Moderne, Modern, Craftsman, Greene and Greene, Shaker, and many more. I love working with my customers as a collaboration, exploring their desires with my unique approach. Let's see what we can come up with next!
