Meticulously crafted illuminated wall sculpture, made from a variety of species of hardwoods that were harvested from the family farm down in rural Ohio. Wormy Maple, Cherry, Walnut, White Oak, and Hickory make for a stunning display of richness and depth. After the initial lumber is planed and jointed from its rough cut state, individual pieces were cut at a variety of thicknesses and lengths. From there, each individual piece of wood was created, being sanded from 120 grit all the way to 600 grit. After the entire piece was put together, I coated it with two coats of Natural Danish Oil, which brings out the depth of the grain and richness of color, all you see is the wood, not a colored polyurethane coating or something similar, nor do have the uniform feel of a generic polyurethane coating, with the Danish Oil what you feel is the wood itself. And those tunnels and trails created by the worms in the Maple?!?! They are not filled with poly, they are open as if in use, but don't worry, there are no creatures still living in them!! There are 15 Xenon low voltage bulbs hidden neatly in the sculpture, creating dramatic shadows and a warm glow over the piece, as shown in the pictures. Overall size of the piece is 55"L x 25"H x with an average projection of 2-1/2" and a maximum projection of about 4-1/2". This piece is ready for shipment, if you desire something different in shape, species of woods, etc. we can discuss a time frame. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. Grant

Hmmmm, a little about me and my business you ask?!?!

I have always enjoyed fabricating for both the artistic and the necessity. My father was a mechanical engineer and the four boys spent a lot of time in his shop tinkering, taking things apart, building, and just having fun. I learned a lot from him, especially from the methodical approach to a project to developing systems and practices to make the project come to life. My mother imparted the creative/softer side of things, and I believe the two influences have come together in a most beautiful way! I am very thankful for that.

I will say this with the utmost sincerity and certainty, I approach each one of my projects from a very personal perspective, from initial consultation with the client(s), all the way through the process and even post delivery/installation. I take great pride in my work and word. Communication is one of the most underrated elements of business, and I work diligently to communicate with the client, whether it be though voice, text, email, face to face, you name it. I enjoy sending progress photos/teaser photos as the project progresses. Or if the client prefers, keeping it under wraps until finished!

If you are looking for something truly unique, with an emphasis on personalization to you and your environment, I would love to talk about it with you.

Thank you for your time.
