Award Winning Art Nouveau Marquetry Bed
This bed was the grand prize winner of the 2019 veneertech craftsman challenge contest. The bed was all done with hand tools. Sapele wood was carved and sculpted from solid 3 inch thick stock. The side tables were sculpted to resemble rose leaves. The marquetry panel is made from Imbuya Pommelle veneers for the main background. The inlaid wood roses were cut from naturally colored maple holly and sycamore woods. The leaves were 2 dyed colored woods. The side panel has a sterling silver spiderweb inlaid with a jasper stone spider. The platform has 4 solid maple dovetailed drawer boxes with soft close guides. The bed is a queen size but could be ordered as a king also. The headboard is 84 inches tall and about 11 feet wide. This is my personal bed but I would be open to selling to a person who would really appreciate it This is just an example of what the possibilities are. We can build any kind of bed you want with an enormous selection of woods. Our past projects have also incorporated reclaimed elephant ivory,brass,gold,various stones as well as abalone shells. If you can dream it we can build it.

Kirk Kreations is a full service woodshop specializing in custom veneered furniture and cabinetry. Our shop offers a very diverse range of projects. Some of our past jobs include yacht interiors, airplene interiors, wood car parts, full offices of furniture, conference tables, full house interiors including cabinets and furniture, and so many various jobs.

As I told him, the measure of a treasure is the wonder it inspires -- and my table is beautiful. I wrote a poem about my experience, as a long distance customer and the confidence that Kirk Coryn inspired. I don't see a way to attach pictures or the poem. I would be glad to do so.

I wanted something that wasn't too big or too small, that would be good for dining and for playing card/board games, and that was unique with a modern yet natural look. Kirk created exactly what I wanted. He was great to work with. His craftsmanship is superb. He gave me lots of options and responded to my questions and comments in a timely manner. AND he kindly stored my finished table, no charge, until my house was finished being built (which was behind schedule). Shipping was a bit expensive and inconvenient, but absolutely no fault of Kirk's (and no more so than it would have been from any other seller). I'll include a picture as soon as I can…The table looks great and is a perfect addition to my new home! Thanks, Kirk : )
