This specific bag took me almost a full 10 days to finish and I LOVE it. This bag is fully textured and tattooed in a way that makes it both flashy and matte at the same time. The boulder texture is put in with a tattoo needle and the flash is hand tooled and colored with a special finish. It’s made from full grain leather and fully lined in European royal blue calfskin. It’s 8 inches tall 9 inches wide and 4 inches deep and has magnetic snaps built-in at the base of the handles. Though she looks really fancy she’s pretty durable. No need to panic when it starts to rain and the tattooed leather really holds up to every day use. This bag will come with a dust jacket for storage as well as instructions on how to care for it and products that are all right to use with it. This is truly a one of one.
Elemental Leather Co.
Making things inspired by the elements. Art, stones, gems, wood. fire , water, and nature.
All of my creations are meant to be one of a kind items. They are uniquely conceptualized and designed. If you see an texture or color or effect that inspires you, it may be possible to do the same technique or color or effect on a different item that I make. For instance perhaps you like the texture of a handbag and you love it on a journal cover in a different color. If that’s the case please reach out for a quote. For many of these items it’s not really possible for me to make again in the same way. But if you see something you like I might have some thing similar that I can do.
I use many techniques to create these effects including but not limited to hand tooling, stamping, tattooing and specific dye processes. I use a variety of leathers in my craft including veg tanned leather’s, chrome tanned leather and exotic leather. Exotic leather varies wildly depending on quality grade and size. I may have to talk to the tanneries for available supplies before giving you a quote on a custom item. If you have any questions please reach out. I currently only ship to the US by USPS or UPS signature required.
Kathleen is a true professional, an artist and an absolute joy to work with. My book has a beautiful leather cover and amazing artwork that she made real from my word salad of ideas. Most importantly, she is communicative and asked clarifying questions so that she fully captured my vision, even bringing up concepts that I had not considered. I felt that she herself was invested in the project. She also had a great deal of patience and understanding. I did not feel rushed to make design decisions that I wasn't ready for. I can't recommend Kathleen enough and will definitely seek her out in the future.
Pictures did not do it justice. I just thought it was beautiful until I unwrapped it. Which was done very carefully & packaged to prevent any damage. The quality is incredible, so much trickier & heavier than expected. The wallet it replaced held what I needed but was fat & hurt if set on it for long. Even had my pain management Dr tell me to quit carrying it. When I put everything in the next wallet you can't tell anything is there still looks as flat as it did empty. The artwork is incredible. The eyes on my wolf hybrid are so life like it's almost like looking in his face again. He looks so real that it brought tears to my eyes. I've never seen anyone work with leather the way she does. Best I have ever seen. I will definitely recommend her in the future & will use her again myself if I need leather work done. Thank you for the incredible job. I don't think anyone else could have pulled it off.
My final project turned out amazing and my fiancé loved it! Would easily reccomend her for any leather project (:
I want to start off by saying how utterly UH-MAY-ZING Kate is!! This was my first experience using Custom Made, and I was totally oblivious as to how the whole process worked. Kate was the first person to respond to my job request, and explained in detail how everything went. She even offered to help me find someone else to work with, in the event that I decided not to go with her. Her friendliness and willingness to help out really stood out to me. The book she made is for my recent advancement to Chief Petty Officer, in the U.S. Coast Guard. Overjoyed barely scratches the surface of what I am feeling over the final product. I already had an idea in my head of what I wanted my book to look like, when I initially submitted my job request. I didn’t realize at the time how limiting this was to an artist. Thankfully though, Kate showed me the error of my ways. She asked for creative flexibility on my book, and while there was a part of me that was hesitant and nervous, I am ultimately grateful that I said yes. Kate truly understood the significance of this book. I believe this is due to the fact that she comes from a military family, and saw firsthand some of the traditions associated with the service. The military family aspect gave me such a warm and fuzzy while working with her. The pride she takes in her work was displayed throughout the entire process. She constantly kept me informed of where she was at during the making of the book, sent me pictures along the way, and finally left me speechless at the end. Kate, THANK YOU. I couldn’t have pictured a more perfect book. Not only have you made my advancement that much sweeter, you also provided me with a piece of work, so Beautiful, to store and cherish memories in.
